Built into the
desire to imagine a different world is a need to
construct it too. We IMAGINE... But out there, in
bloodless organisations of film construction, are rules
to be obeyed. WE REFUSE. So, we think, IMAGINE and
THINK IT THROUGH: how would it look, sound, feel, this
thing we desire to IMAGINE and CONSTRUCT.
We TREAT these
IMAGININGS to our best thought and WRITE THEM UP on
this, our WEBSITE OF INTELLECTUAL INSURGENCY.
And, if you want
to imagine OTHER films too, we hope you will help
finance us to REWRITE, EDIT & REVISE them, enabling
us to satisfy our MUTUAL need to CONSTRUCT them.
With esteemed
PRODUCERS, we plan, propose and CONTRACT, get the
budget SHOOT and EDIT the film world we DESIRED to
IMAGINE, and CONSTRUCT it DIFFERENTLY.

INSURGENCY FILMS has
taken control of our screenwriting & filmmaking, to
make the world different, to world-wide our audience -
for their sake, all our sakes, control it with real and
felt experiences along the way, growing and learning,
developing and imagining:
INSURGENCY FILMS is
screenwriting to control a better future, a film making
future of exploration and communication of life's great
and final things.
INSURGENCY FILMS wants
it deep & philosophically hard, imaginative and
experimental - to do that we've got to control
'it'.
'INSURGENCY' -
'Control' - the combination seems contradictory, but
the best exploration is disciplined: don't forget film
history - INSURGENCY thinks and is the author of these
radical, addictive, inflammatory, mesmerising films,
because, like the great screenwriters, INSURGENCY is
self-mythologising to avoid the banal, dull and
mediocre commercial blag - self-mythologising creates
authorial identity which means creative control.

If you've got it
you've got it - and the individual identity of the work
will emerge - don't do it unless you have.
Definitely not just
restorative 3 act structure
especially. not
Hollywood cheap closure - narrative is nuclear more
than that!

Remember the films you
can't forget - want to make them with cohesion , not
just personality but expressionism & northern
vision - on land. Some things not asked yet - or even
asked - films must deal with this life-shite
4 - senses
Show it bleed, hear
it, smell it, touch it, taste it.
But not just literally
- metonymy & synecdoche, dictionary no good - need
metaphorical meanings. Complicate it: Mine the film
mind

Dig the
deconstruction
Clever clever -
authors should work the sub text & visual vocab to
make our audience, forge a market for ideas in a
material world, make the audience radicalise thoughts
that cut convention
Film needs to smell it
- sense it - like charred flesh - the being is the
seeing.

Build the Intellectual
Alien INSURGENCY!
So we hope INSURGENCY will see you
this Earth year for a chat about stories, screenplays,
science fiction and science fact, what I take to be the
current metaphors, organising principles or controlling
ideas at the heart of world wide debates about
human-altering technologies of the past, present and
future - these screenplays, writings, films -
terraforming the newly grown cerebral cortex of the
planet.
Our
intellectual insurgency is ongoing.
It's a lifelong
project, working title is Alien Semantics: metaphors
of human consciousness and cosmology in science
fiction and science fact.
I would like you all to help me by
participating in the science fact side of it. I cannot
think of many more robust or independent human minds
than yours and as a model for brilliant thinking, I
would like to contribute to your contribution to human
achievement. I would like you to join my exploration
and communication of life's great and final things.
All these screenplays
are interested in SETI, the search for extra
terrestrial intelligence. Whether it is likely or not
in our lifetimes I think our writing now on/in the
ethics of criminology, alientation, chemical
dependancy, sexual orientation, cultural formations,
genetic engineering sets out a methodology for
approaching a totally new human experience. Possibly
even an inhuman future experience, and developing a
communicative competence for expressing it. I think in
between two or more schools still. I'm interested in
being different and thinking differently, if it is
possible.
To think of screenplays, films,
computer games, novels, histories and scientific
explanations as all somehow metaphors for our human
consciousness and cosmology is to challenge our
'natural' thinking. Our fears and prejudices, hopes
and aspirations.
You, my friends have all inspired me
in this head on thinking, in your own
lives, challenging our sense of fear and panic over
'other' ways of 'shopping', 'living', 'fighting'
enjoying, being, and technologies of reproduction. As
it happens, if you know me, then I would say you have
shown me the plasticity (positive and negative) of
human life forms and the similarities with other
silicon intelligences and given me hope.
I think similar thinking may be
required to explore the 'story' element to the myths of
our earthboundness and humanity found in science
fiction and fact. And there may be a 'relativistic'
understanding of human communication with other species
on earth. And similarly a 'relativistic' appreciation
of the otherness of thinking required to conceptualise
alien consciousness.
If we write
up our journey into Science Fiction and Science
Fact, 'ideas' of Alien Consciousness and Communication
we might find or create a theoretical, even functional
Alien Semantics and make CONTACT.
What a great
story that would be.
